What is Wrong with our Society?
The other day when I was driving down the street in Brockton to get the A/C in my car fixed I noticed a road block and dozens of cops and unmarked police cruisers. I thought to myself that something must have been wrong because it did not look like a car accident since there were no damaged cars in sight Little did I know the next day in the newspaper on the front page that a poor fifty one year old woman was shot exactly where I was driving. Jennifer Rodrigues Teixera, was an innocent bystander who had just left church and was walking down the street when she was in line of fire and shot by nineteen year old boy. She died from a gun shot to the back. This story makes me very sad for the woman and her family and angry because it seemes that this country has had more gun violence than ever lately. What has become of the people of the world that they have to relate matters to violence and end up taking lives of innocent people?

Hi Taralynn, I agree with you. It seems that nowadays people got so used to be selfish and arrogant and the fact that most of them get off lightly doesnt help either.

It's luike people nowadays are getting out of the house with their boxing gloves on, they're always ready to fight. People became so focused in working those extra hours alwyas in that rush rush state of mind that they forget to educate their children. They, themselves have no defined barriers of whats wrong or right and therefore cant pass it on to the kids. Very sad.
Gun violence is a big one in Brockton and almost every day there is a shooting and someone gets shot. Growing up in Bridgewater and going to West Bridgewater schools we have students from Brockton because of the school choice program. The year I graduated one of the students from Brockton that went to my school was also shot in a party shooting. Most of the shooters flee if they are not caught and it is upsetting. This happened in 2007 and was all over the news and one of the stories in Americas most wanted. Recently a couple months ago they finally found the person who shot my friend. It was really good to know that they finally found the guy and that gave us answers. The shootings in Brockton are just crazy and they need to tame that city somehow.
